Working in a Person Centred Way

Service users making their own decisions and maintaining control over their lives is at the heart of the personalisation agenda. However providers, managers, a staff members and volunteers have responsibilities and clear lines of accountability determined by the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. This workshop will guide you through these areas. It will provide core knowledge and Organisations will be able to ensure that person centred working is embedded within their service delivery framework

Delegates attending this course will:

 

·        Understand the role of the Care Provider (CP) / Personal Assistant (PA)

·        Recognise and be able to use the key skills of the CP / PA

·        The programme will act as a vehicle for the discussion and solution of key concerns and specific areas of specialised caring as raised by individuals or the group

·        Build confidence in the ability to deliver / assist with good care

·        Be able to work as CP / PA adding value to the employer and enhancing their quality of life

 

The programme will incorporate accountability aspects in relation to Mental Capacity and Deprivation of Liberty and will be totally focused on the person centred care approach

 

 Trainer: Tender care Partnership - Joyce Parfitt: Joyce is a dual trained nurse, with managerial and leadership experience. She is a standard setter whose ethos of quality care, dignity and respect for both patients and staff ensures patient satisfaction. Her areas of expertise lie in teaching and assessing, mental health assessment, therapeutic interventions, administration of medication and care management.
